About Jon Eames
FOUNDER – AUDIO & VIDEO SYSTEMS
Jon started his career in 1979 at a small stereo component shop in Hyannis, MA, called Sound II Stereo Discounters. Although he had no knowledge of the electronics industry, he did have extensive retail sales and management experience. After two years in a management position, Jon left and joined the staff at Nantucket Sound.
At that time, Jon had gained a greater understanding of the products and attended the Dale Carnegie Sales Training classes. He experienced career success as a commissioned salesman at Nantucket Sound and continued to hone his skills in a job he loved. Hoping to further his career, Jon then started as a salesman at Tweeter. While at Tweeter, Jon expanded his expertise from just stereo systems to include televisions as well.
Jonathan began closing more sales by offering free delivery and hook up of the products he was selling. Seeing a growing need for expert installation of electronic systems, Jon resigned from Tweeter and founded Audio and Video Systems in 1990. In the beginning, Audio and Video Systems provided home and office installation services with Tweeter selling the electronics.
Eventually Tweeter began to provide its own, in-house installation services, so Jon began establishing his own relationships with various equipment vendors and began selling products himself. His knowledge of the products and services increased, and the rapid evolution of technology over the years has ensured that he will always have something to do.
